1 Airport - Bucharest

Welcome to Romania! Known for its wide, tree-lined boulevards, glorious Belle Époque buildings and a reputation for the good life, since the 1900s Bucharest has enjoyed the nickname of “Little Paris”. Great museums, fine dining and shopping await you. En route to the hotel enjoy a panoramic city tour passing some of Bucharest’s most famous sites.  Check into your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore the city on your own. Tonight, dinner at Caru Cu Bere Restaurant, famous since 1879!

2 Bucharest - Curtea De Arges - Sibiu

After breakfast at the hotel, you’re off on a city tour by private car. Highlights of the tour include a visit to the Parliament Palace (one of the world’s “giant” building second in size only The Pentagon), The National Art Museum (with Medieval, European and Romanian galleries) and The Village Museum (Opened in 1906 this is the richest folk art collection in Romania.  After a brief stop for lunch, depart Bucharest for Sibiu with a stop along the way to see Cozia Monastery, one of the oldest buildings in Romania. Sibiu was the largest and wealthiest of the seven walled citadels* built in the 12th century by German settlers known as Transylvanian Saxons. The riches amassed by its guilds paid for the construction of both impressive buildings and the fortifications required to protect them, with the Old Town retaining much of the grandeur of its earlier days. This evening, after checking into your hotel, we’ve arranged for you to have dinner with a local farmer in Sibiel where you can experience true farm to table dining,

3 Sibiu - Cluj Napoca - Baia Mare

Breakfast will be served at your hotel before an exciting day of touring. Visit the charming city Sibiu, walk through the old city centre with visits to the Liar’s Bridge, the Brukenthal Museum and the Evangelic Cathedral. Departure for Cluj Napoca:  In the heart of Transylvania, Cluj-Napoca awaits its visitors with a legendary beauty and mystique that have enthralled generations of travelers. While here, visit St. Michaels Church and tour the Botanical Gardens. This evening, dinner in Baia Mare.

4 Baia Mare - Sighetul Marmatiei - Gura Humorului

Departure for a full day tour to the Maramures region including the world famous “Merry Cemetery”, Eli Weizel House and the Village Museum. The Maramures region in northwest Romania is home to many villages where century-old traditions are still part of daily life. The inhabitants of this area have preserved, to an amazing extent, the rural culture, crafts and architecture of their ancestors. Accommodation and dinner in Gura Humorului.

5 Gura Humorului - Sucevita - Putna - Gura Humorului

Breakfast at the hotel will be followed by a day of touring focused on the Bucovina region. Rich in both Christian and Jewish heritage, this area is famous for its stunning wooden buildings. 6 Gura Humorului - Targu Neamt - Piatra Neamt

7 Piatra Neamt - Bicaz Keys - Poiana Brasov

Today you’re off to the Poina Brasov Mountain Resort. Fringed by the peaks of the Southern Carpathian Mountains and resplendent with gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture, Brasov is one of the most visited places in Romania. Travelers from around the world visit Brasov for skiing in the winter, hiking and festivals in the spring and summer or simply to absorb the natural beauty of the region. En route you will stop for a brief visit to the picturesque village of Sighisoara. Founded during the 12th century, Sighisoara still stands as one of the most beautiful and best-preserved medieval towns in Europe. Designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this perfectly intact 16th century gem with nine towers, cobbled streets, it rivals the historic streets of Old Prague or Vienna for atmospheric magic (It is also the birthplace of Vlad Dracula!). 8 Poiana Brasov - Brasov - Bran - Peles - Bucharest

Breakfast at the hotel will be followed by a Brasov city tour and a visit to the gothic masterpiece, the Black Church, which is the largest gothic church between Vienna and Istanbul.  Your tour continues with a visit to the most famous of all Romanian landmarks, Bran Castle. (home of Vlad the Impaler and legendary Dracula).  On the way to Bucharest stop in Sinaia for visit the Peles Castle. If the time will permits, before arriving in Bucharest, stop in Snagov for visiting Dracula’s Tomb. You’ll also visit Peles Castle, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful castles in all of Europe.  Before arriving to Bucharest, a stop for wine tasting at the Azuga Winery for a tasting of great local wines.
