Depart the U.S. on your flight to Casablanca aboard Royal Air Maroc

2 Sunday: Casablanca / Rabat

Arrival at Casablanca, a chief port is the financial, commercial and manufacturing center of Morocco and the largest city in Africa. Drive along the wide boulevards and pass the Mosque of Hassan II where you have the option to visit the interior. Continue to the Imperial “Garden City” of Rabat. Check-in at your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

3 Monday: Rabat / Moulay Idriss / Volubilis / Meknes / Fes

Morning tour in Rabat will include the Kasbah of the Oudayas, the Royal Palace within the walls of the Mechouar, Hassan Tower, and Mohammed V Mausoleum, the city’s invariable symbol magnificently situated on the crest of a hill. We depart to the Imperial city of Meknes, the “Versailles of Morocco, dating back to the 8th Century. We shall see the monumental gates of Bab Mansour before continuing to the Roman ruins of Volubilis. From there we can see the holy city of Moulay Idriss, which holds the tomb of Moulay Idriss, the founder of Islam in Morocco. Continue to Fes for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

4 Tuesday: Fes

Tour of Fes, oldest of the Imperial Cities, founded in 790 A.D. Today, this city is the spiritual, cultural, and educational center of the country and renowned for its traditional crafts. This morning will include the monuments and historical sites such as the Karaouine University and Mosque. At the center of the square stands the Nejjarine fountain, decorated with tiles, and considered to be the finest examples of geometric ornamentation in the city. This afternoon, walk along the winding cobblestone lanes of the ancient souk and to see the ancient Dyers Tannery – the view is memorable. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B, D)

5 Wedneasdy: Fes / Beni Mellal / Marrakech

Depart Fes for a full day drive via the Middle Atlas region with its beautiful cedar forests toward Marrakech. Arrive in Beni-Mellal and stop for refreshments before proceeding to Marrakech. Along the route you will notice the change in scenery as the earth becomes red, the sky clear blue and the lush green of the scattered palm groves. Arrive in Marrakech and check-in at your hotel. 6 Marrakech

Known as the “Pearl of the South,” Marrakech is situated at the foot of the Atlas Mountains and the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Sightseeing in this beautiful city includes the 16th century Saadian Tombs, the Museum of Moroccan Arts, the fragrant Menara Gardens, and the magnificent Bahia Palace. After lunch, we continue to Djemaa-el-Fna Square, the heart of Marrakech. Tonight, enjoy dinner and a folkloric show at “Chez Ali,” serving typical Moroccan cuisine, family style in lavishly decorated tents amidst music, local entertainment and an equestrian show. 7 Marrakech

Today will be a day of leisure.  Perhaps enjoy a cooking class, a day out in Asni & Ourigane or relax and visit Jardins Majorelle. (B)
